About this piece
The Montsouris is Louis Vuitton's monogram backpack — a 1990s idea that has come all the way back around. Worn on both shoulders it is genuinely practical, and the monogram canvas is close to indestructible, which is why so many survive to be resold.
Louis Vuitton began as a trunk-maker in 1854, and the house still builds bags like luggage: structured, corner-reinforced, made to be carried rather than protected.
